Hello dear friends,
How are you all today? Ready and waiting for Santa? Somehow for the first time in eons I am actually ready and eager for Christmas to arrive, lol. Do not even ask how I managed it. I don’t know myself but yup, I’m done and dusted and ready to go, wohooooo.
Yesterday my son Danny and his family visited overnight. We had a fantastic time and I got to enjoy lots of warm hugs from my little grandkiddos which has made my Christmas perfect.
Jay organised some great things to keep us all entertained including ‘Secret Cinema’, a new ‘tradition’ he has started this year which involves us watching a film of his choice that we link to the festive season. We don’t know what it will be until its time to watch. So far we’ve seen ET, Ghostbusters, Polar Express, Mrs Arris Goes To Paris (my all time favourite movie) and last night, Saving Mr Banks (the Mary Poppins story). We’ve loved each and every one of Jays secret cinemas so far. I wonder what todays screening will be?
I’ve realised lately that traditions don’t have to be very old or things passed down from generation to generation. They can be new things you build upon throughout your own life time. I love Jays idea of the Secret Cinema and other recent traditions we’ve started together, like the Manchester Christmas Markets, just as much as I love the old loved traditions of stockings on Christmas Eve and Mulled Wine get togethers with family and friends.
How about you, have you recently created your own ‘traditions’ and if so, what are they. Leave your comments below, we’d love to hear about them.
